Today we are going to make a tasty Kiri Kos Curry that you can make at home and it is super easy. Kiri Kos is also known in English as Jackfruit and it is popular throughout Sri Lanka.
Jackfruit is a source of Vitamin C, it contains traces of nutrients, and includes a number of health benefits.
● 500g of Jackfruit
● Turmeric Powder
● Table Salt to Taste
● 1 tsp Curry Powder
● 1 tsp Black Pepper
● Water
● 4 Cups of Thick Coconut Milk
● 3 Green Chillies
● Curry and Pandan Leaves
● Cinnamon Sticks
● Sliced Onion
● Garlic
● Mustard Seeds
● You need to cut the Jackfruit and separate the seeds and the Jackfruit Flesh as
shown in the video
● Cut the Jackfruit flesh into pieces as shown in the video and also wash it
● Wash The Jackfruit Seeds and you need to peel the skin of
● Put the Washed Jackfruit Flesh into a Pot
● After that, put over some Pandan, Curry Leaves, Cinnamon Stick, Salt and Turmeric
Powder
● Pour a Cup of water into the pot
● Whilst cooking, leave the lid on and keep it for about 15 minutes
● After 15 minutes, stirr the Jackfruit with a spoon and then leave it for about 10
minutes
● Check the seeds if they are perfectly cooked
● Add some Green Chillies and the Thick Coconut Milk and leave it for 5 minutes
● Add Some Curry Powder, Black Pepper
● Cook it at low heat for about 5 minutes and then taste to check if it is cooked
● If you want more taste, pour over some oil into a frying pan and fry some onions,
garlic and curry leaves.
● Sprinkle over some Mustard seeds and continue stirring
● After that, add the Jackfruit to give it more flavor.
Enjoy, you can have it with either rice or on its own.
