Ingredients


• Green gram (flour) 500g
• Sugar 500g (brown)
• Raw rice flour 1kg
• Thick coconut milk 2 cups
• Turmeric powder ½ tsp
• Salt 1/8 tsp


Method


1. Fry some sugar until brown in low heat.
2. Heat some water and add rest of your sugar and boil.
3. Once this reaches the right consistency add fried brown sugar and make it dark treacle.
4. Take it off the flame.
5. Separate 250g of rice flour aside to make butter.
6. Mix rice flour and green gram flour.
7. Mix well step by step with treacle and mould this into a nice ball.
8. Roll the mixture using a rolling pin. Cut this into diamond shape and keep this until you make the batter.
9. To make the batter, mix white rice, turmeric powder, salt, coconut milk and make a thick paste as seen in the video.
10. Dip the diamond shape pieces into the butter and fry until golden brown.
